Well, hello there! I’m so glad you’re here. Let me tell you a bit about myself.
I was born and raised in western Massachusetts to a police officer dad and a teacher-turned-homemaker mom. There were seven of us: five boys and two girls. After college in Boston and New York, my desire for a legal career led me to the amazing Antioch School of Law in Washington, D.C. My career spanned more than 30 fulfilling years representing employees and unions in the workplace. Over those years I got married (later divorced) and had two children, who will always be the center of my universe.
My favorite aspect of work was to interview employees, digging behind the legalities to understand each person’s whole reality. I would then weave their circumstances into a story framed by the relevant legal context.
Fast forward to my career as a Life-Cycle Celebrant. Just as I had enjoyed interviewing employees for decades, I now relish the connection with each client as we craft a ceremony that pays tribute to their unique experience. Weddings, funerals and celebrations of life are ceremonies that allow us to share joy or sorrow with loved ones. Whether or not someone belongs to a church, temple or mosque, Certified Life-Cycle Celebrants are trained in the art of ceremony creation. We provide expert guidance for wedding couples with different cultural or religious backgrounds in order to honor the history of each family. Clients share their beliefs and stories with us, and we craft the ceremony to their unique needs.
Individual milestones can be just as important as customary ceremonies. Couples who try without success to conceive a child may carry hearts heavy with grief. Someone who has traversed the difficult path toward coming out wants the world to know and celebrate their true self. After decades of working, the newly retired can smile toward their future. For each of these, a Celebrant led ceremony can validate their experience and bring comfort and connection.
If you have crossed a significant threshold or reached a consequential milestone, please reach out for a no-obligation meet and greet. I look forward to hearing from you.
